Newborn Photography: Celebrating the New Year with a Newborn

This adorable little nugget, Samantha, was born on New’s Years Day. Kicking off the 2014 season with newborn photography was a perfect beginning to my new year. Winter days seem much less dreary when interacting with precious newborns. It brings me such pleasure to capture a baby in their first few weeks of life. This session was themed around the ocean, as Samantha’s parents are avid surfers. The gorgeously knit mermaid costume was hand-crafted by a very talented friend of the mother. My goal with each newborn session is to personalize the experience as much as possible. We even photographed little Sam on a surfboard, however, that photo will be posted once I show her mother. My hope is that Samantha grows to love the ocean as much as her parents. It was truly an honor to photograph this session.
